What do you think of the baby boy name Pen ?
pen sounds like the short version of a girls name penny. like a nickname. i havent heard it before and its kinda awkward for the kid =P. my mum is called penny and is often called pen for short.
Reply:Why would you want to name your child to be funny? It's like naming your kid Toilet.
Reply:I think of Penny or Penelope when I here Pen as a name.. sorry... then if I think long enough I think of Penfold... lol
Reply:I know a boy named Penn. He's been in and out of all sorts of trouble. For me, it makes me think "troubled kid." If you like the name, consider a common name as the middle name. This way the child has a choice as to what he'd like to be called. Penn is unusual and he may get teased. If his name was Penn Phillip, he would always have Phillip to fall back on.





The name also makes me think of Penfold who was the sniveling sidekick of Danger Mouse!

Reply:Reminds me of the comic/magicians Penn and Teller. I think it's cute, but has to be short for something. How about Pentagon, Pence, Penley, Penryn...
Reply:Never heard it before, but avoid it if you're thinking of using it. One thing to look for in a name is whether other kids can make fun of the kid who has it. A name which suggests a common object will invite this. Then, when he gets to the middle school years, they will add two letters at the end, even though that gives a different pronunciation of the vowel.
