Do you consider Riley a girl or boy name?

My daughter went to school with a boy named Riley, so of course i consider it a boy name.

But a relative is having a girl %26amp; is thinking of naming her Riley.

Is this a name you want for your little girl?

Just wanting other opinions!

Thanks!

Do you consider Riley a girl or boy name?
i think spelling it differently would make a big difference!!!

i consider it a boys name but i think if u spelt it like "rilee" its more of a girls name!

u should give them that idea, then her name would be unique 2!!!
Reply:Yeah it's a girls/guys name.I guess it depends on your preference really.
Reply:Well, my friends husband's name is Riley and when she got pregnant , he had to go off to war, so she named the little girl Riley Morgan, so if he doesn't come back she will call her Riley but when he does she will call her Morgan. She knows the girl might get confuse but now she calls her Riley Morgan all together.
Reply:it's unisex
Reply:boy
Reply:i used o be a nanny for a little girl named riley. i also knew a dog named riley.
Reply:Yep...there's a dog on our street named Riley. He's a boy. We also have a family on the street named Riley. No relation.
Reply:I know a girl named Riley and a boy named Riley.. So I think it can be used for either.. I think I would want it more for a girl than a boy maybe.. Ryleigh would look more girl though..
Reply:I have a friend who named her son Riley, yet i have also met a girl with that name.
Reply:I like Riley for a girl's name.

But I'd also want to name my daughter Jordan.

I guess its preference.
Reply:Well, personally I would just automatically think that Riley would be a girl.
Reply:I think of it as a girl name, but only because I know a girl with that name. You can get used to either. I know a boy named Kiley and I didn't know it was a girl's name for the longest time!
Reply:I know a girl named Riley, so I think of it as a girls name! ;)
Reply:I think a boy. I know a little boy with that name. It could go either way though.
Reply:I have a female cousin named Rylie and a male nephew name Riley. It's a unisex name as far as I'm concerned!
Reply:I think Riley could go for either gender. I actually think it would be cute for a girl.
Reply:my brother's name is riley. I don't think riley sounds like a girl name.
Reply:I think its more of a girl name
Reply:I have a good friend named Riley, and he's a guy. I don't know any female Rileys, but it's not a bad name for a girl either. I guess it can go either way.
Reply:I personally love this name. If it's paired with a trendy, girly middle name (like Samantha, Alexandra, Daniella, Cecile...), it will totally work! But I prefer the spelling Riely. I like it way better as a girl's name.

Hope I helped :)
Reply:Depends on how you spell it...but its one of my favorite names for a boy and a girl! Riley (boy) and Rylie (girl)
Reply:I think 'Riley' should only be used for a boy. It just doesn't sound right for a girl. Too many trends are developing where people take a boy name and use it for a girl. Stupid if you ask me!
Reply:I think of Riley as a girl name
Reply:I think it's a boy name. I don't think I've known any girl named Riley.

I'd never name my girl that.
Reply:It's all boy to me.
Reply:My friends cats name is Riley and he is a boy.
Reply:its good for both, but if i heard it and didnt see the child would think they were taking about a boy.
Reply:Both, but I especially like it for a little girl. It is sooo sweet!

PS - Love Keith Urban too!
Reply:I've always thought of it as a girl's name.
Reply:i think that it goes better as a boy then a girl
Reply:We had a female dog name Rylie
